When should you watch this movie: When you’re considering going to your college reunion or worse, your high school reunion.
The sell: The Big Chill was Jeff Goldblum’s break-out role and that alone should be reason to put it on your viewing list. Is the movie itself all that exciting? It’s literally called the Big Chill so no, not really. That being said, it is an excellent character study. The lack of action is made-up for in sweet human moments as friends reminisce about their college years and one tries to get pregnant. It makes you think about the durability of different relationships and how to tell your loved ones that you care. I’ll say it one more time, Jeff Goldblum.
