Now You See Me

If only magicians were this hot in real life

Release date: May 21, 2013
Director: Louis Leterrier
Language: English

Who should watch this movie: Folks who had a magic phase. Folks still in their magic phase.

When should you watch this movie: When you’ve just seen Social Network and are desperate (truly desperate) to see more of Jesse Eisenberg

The sell: This is a genuinely exciting movie for those who don’t struggle to suspend their disbelief. The glitter of increasingly outlandish magic tricks and start studded cast is almost (but not quite) bright enough to hide the gaping plot holes and lazy writing. That being said, it’s fun to watch so long as you don’t think too hard about it. The charismatic ensemble cast just barely resuscitate the dead script, and eeks out a production a hair over the “the bad movie” threshold. Though it may not be boring, it is entirely predictable. Recommend this movie to your friends with basic taste. If you really love this movie, sorry, you’re basic.
